New Member of the Team
We now have a new member to the Liverpool World Centre Team. Andrea Bullivant is the Global Dimension in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Support Officer. Here is some information about what her role involves.
Global Dimension in ITE Support Officer
- To promote and support understanding of the Global Dimension amongst ITE (initial teacher education) tutors and students at Hope, and partnership schools across the region
- Support ITE tutors to embed the GD within the teacher training programme
- Capture and disseminate learning to teachers and school leaders through collaboration with LWC, Manchester Development Education Project and NWGEN
How?
· Be a first point of contact with tutors at Hope with regards to issues surrounding the GD –( making contact with individuals, communicating via email, attending education deanery meetings and working with GD “champion” tutors
· Acting as a link and liaising with Clive Belgeonne from Manchester DEP (providing consultancy to Hope) and co-ordinating his programme of Continuing Professional Development mentor sessions with teachers and tutors. Also attending/contributing to these sessions
· Attending lectures/workshops across the different teacher training/education programmes. Supporting students with presentations on GD issues to partnershipship schools and working with tutors to incorporate the GD in teaching.
· Organising a conference on GD in education (title to be confirmed) at Hope on 23rd June 2009 – aimed at teachers, HE tutors, students and involving schools, NGO’s and LA childrens services.
· Monitoring GD resources in LWC and LHU (and use of) in conjunction with library staff and signposting tutors, teachers, students to these resources
· Using LWC/LHU web sites to signpost students, teachers, tutors to resources, events etc and to disseminate information eg, case studies
· Collecting evidence related to all of above
