Global Education for Merseyside
As sub regional coordinator for the North West Global Education Network (NWGEN) LWC is responsible for the promotion of global education across Merseyside. The overall aim of NWGEN is “to provide North West teachers with more effective and sustained support for incorporating a global dimension into their teaching, by adopting a more strategic approach to provision of support throughout the region. This will ultimately, in the long term, enable all children experience the global dimension across all phases of their education across a variety of school activities.”
The work of NWGEN across the region is informed by the eight concepts which underpin the notion of ‘the global dimension’ in education:
- Global Citizenship
- Values and Perceptions
- Conflict Resolution
- Human Rights and Responsibilities
- Interdependence
- Diversity
- Social Justice
- Sustainable Development
