Margaret Burr is Head of the Humanities Education Centre in Tower Hamlets, London. She has been involved in various forms of linking in schools for 20 years and recently developed the ‘Toolkit for Linking: opportunities and challenges’ for the UK One World Linking Association.

Ted Cantle chairs the Institute of Community Cohesion and is an Associate Director of the IDeA. Ted was chief executive of Nottingham City Council for 11 years. Following his review of the causes of the disturbances in a number of northern towns and cities in 2001, the government adopted the policy of promoting ‘community cohesion’. He chaired the panel which advised ministers on implementation of his recommendations.
